Many teens learn about sex from their peers or in school before they ever talk with their parents. It can be difficult to know where to start the conversation and what’s the most important information to include. We’ve gathered a panel of professionals to discuss how they teach teens about sex. We’ll hear about different approaches used by Planned Parenthood, Kaiser Permanente’s Educational Theatre Program, and a high school teacher. Come join us for a discussion of what’s working and how we can better meet the sex ed needs of teens today.

The beer booth is one of our regular fund-raising efforts and a great way to help out the organization while you’re at the Fair. We have had tons of fun the last three years slinging beverages. Like all San Francisco Sex Information events the booth is staffed entirely by volunteers. Come help us make this year the best so far!

The booth is located at the NE end of the Fair, near the 7th Street stage. We’ll be the first beer booth you see if you’re coming from 7th Street. Grab a beer before heading over to the live music, or on your way down the main drag.

San Francisco Sex Information, 415-989-SFSI
The extensively trained staff at the San Francisco Sex Information help line have been doling out advice about getting down — techniques, fetishes, STDs — since 1972. Volunteers undergo extensive training in all aspects of human sexuality, including reproduction, birth control, safer sex practices, HIV, sexual identity and gender identity. Counseling is also available in Spanish. Their hours are Monday-Thursday 3-9 p.m., Friday 3-7 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 2-6 p.m. PST. They’re confidential and open-minded, but sternly warn that they do not provide phone sex.
